Dr. Joan Yoo recently relocated from Ohio where she had been in private practice for several years. Dr. Yoo has extensive training in many areas of dentistry, in addition to her comprehensive training as a general dentist. Dr. Christine Han has been in private practice for nearly a decade. She began her education at Penn State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. She then attended dental school at Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry. Dr. Leah Coutts grew up in the Boston area and went off to Lehigh University in in Bethlehem, PA where she received her degree in Behavioral Neuroscience. Sarah graduated with Cum Laude honors from NVCC's hygiene program. Prior to entering hygiene school, she worked as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) for three years, which is where she realized great joy in helping patients achieve their dental goals. Sarah believes that her goal as a hygienist is to educate about and assist patients to achieve their dental goals and also their overall health.
Sarah loves exploring the city with friends, as well as weight lifting and taking challenging spin classes.
Melissa has been in the dental field for over eleven years. Melissa really enjoys seeing her patients improve in their gum health, and loves working with each of her patients to achieve their dental goals. Melissa is bilingual (Englsh and Spanish) and puts a great deal of effort into sharing information about keeping a health mouth for life. Melissa is a very positive and nurturing hygienist and strives to make every appointment comfortable and productive.
Melissa enjoys music and learning different styles of dance, as well as spending time with her family doing various activities such as hiking, being outdoors, relaxing at the beach and more.
Bree has been in the dental field for over 16 years. She began her career as a dental assistant, and then gained additional experience and knowledge as a front office administrator, while attending dental hygiene school. In addition to being knowledgeable about a broad range of dentistry, Bree's main focus is in helping and promoting healthy gums and smiles for each of her patients, when at the office and also at home. Throughout her years, she has had the opportunity to work with all age and needs groups, including patients with anxiety, special needs, full mouth reconstruction and those who are medically compromised. She is excited to be a part of our office and looks forward to meeting and exceeding patient expectations. Bree enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, baking and spending time at home with loved ones.
Christina is our Treatment Coordinator. She has been with the office since 2007, and was the lead dental assistant for 8 years before transitioning to the front desk team. Christina's excellent communication skills combined with her tremendous knowledge and love for dentistry is a huge benefit for our patients.
Christina really enjoys going the extra mile for each of our patients, from further education about various treatments and other options, to financing and payment options, Christina is happy to help each patient achieve their dental goal.
Outside of work, Christina enjoys spending time with her family in Haymarket, VA where she resides.
Sammy is Korean-American, born in Germany but grew up from a very young age in the Northern Virginia area. She has a younger brother and two dogs, whom she loves spending time with.
Sammy finds that the most rewarding thing about being in the dental field is seeing patients enjoying their new smiles. Away from the office, Sammy loves to travel, going to the gym and trying new food with my friends and family.
Alex is a friendly and helpful face at the office, and helps our patients with their appointment scheduling. Alex loves many things, including being organized, children, family, fashion, shopping, and people -- although not people who crunch their food too loudly.
Alex has a busy life, attending school while working full-time. In her downtime, she enjoys cooking, shopping, working with children, and hanging out with her family.
Trisha is a Dental Assistant and is keenly interested in patient care and in sharing information and knowledge with guests of our office. Trisha became interested in the field of dentistry from a very young age, when she frequently visited her orthodontist uncle's practice in California. Trisha works very hard to provide each patient with excellent dental care at our office, and her gentle touch combined with her deep knowledge and expertise in the field is appreciated by all of our patients and co-workers.
Ashley is also a Dental Assistant. Ashley does a wonderful job working with patients during their restorative procedures, to ensure that each patient is comfortable and well cared for. Ashley's warm and generous personality really comes through in her work and also interaction with patients and co-workers. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys nature hikes with her family and friends.
Susan Susan is a dedicated and gifted Dental Assistant at our office. She is incredibly nurturing of each of our patients and enjoys making every appointment comfortable and even enjoyable. Susan is currently preparing to enter hygiene school, and has been a dental assistant for several years. Outside of work, Susan enjoys a wide array of hobbies, including charcoal drawing, acrylic painting, improving her piano and violin skills, as well as dabbling in "k-pop" hip hop dance.
Mia has been in the dental field for a few years now, formerly at an amazing local oral surgery practice. During her time as a treatment coordinator, she discovered that she had a keen interest in helping patients in a dental clinical setting. Now as a hygiene assistant, Mia interacts with patients everyday, helping each patient with clinical treatments and education. Mia has a very active lifestyle, including frequent hiking trips, horseback riding, gym sessions, among others. Mia also enjoys spending time with her close knit family.
Jessica is very interested in patient care, and is on track to furthering her growth and progress in the dental field. She is currently attending classes in preparation for dental hygiene school, and possibly even dental school.
Jessica also enjoys exercising, hiking, sketching and spending time with her great family and friends.
Vicki is a dedicated yet warm and friendly team member at our office. Vicki plans on attending dental school in the future, and is enjoying working with patients of our office in a clinical capacity.
Vicki also enjoys spending time with her two dogs, as well as her close-knit family. She is also fond of "adventuring" with her friends in the local area and beyond.
Becky has been a dental professional for almost two decades, and has really enjoyed all of it. Becky is very helpful to our patients in all areas of our professional business office. From understanding treatment plans and options, to flexible scheduling, to financing options and insurance benefit management, Becky is both a joy to work with as well as a very helpful resource for our patients. Becky has a large number of interests, including practicing yoga and enjoying various summer activities.
Lynda is one of our Front Office Coordinators. Lynda moved to the D.C. area from New Jersey a few years ago, though she grew up in Baltimore for most of her life. Lynda enjoys the interaction with patients as well as her fellow team members at our office. She enjoys spending lots of time with her family, as well as running (her first Ragnar race coming soon), outdoor activities, exercise and other active hobbies. She enjoys being a "foodie" and enjoys new experiences and foods. She also loves living the life of a "beach bum" whenever possible.
