Direct Bonding
Direct bonding is a conservative procedure requiring the artistic talents of a skilled dentist. Direct bonding requires little to no tooth reduction, and is a procedure in which a composite material is placed over your teeth to improve the appearance of the teeth. Direct bonding may be used to brighten a dark tooth, build back a chipped or broken tooth, or as a filling in a tooth.
Dental bonding is a tooth colored (composite) resin material that is lightly brushed onto the tooth, then light activated. The procedure is completed in a single visit to our practice, and requires very little tooth-reduction and no anesthesia.
This procedure may be used in many of the same cases as porcelain veneers, though direct bonding typically does not last as long as veneers do. Some of our patients desire more dramatic alterations to their teeth, in which cases porcelain veneers may be a better choice of restoration. Please ask Dr. Park or our office staff about each option. and together we will decide what is best for your smile. Read about Porcelain Veneers
